Removing Barriers to Getting Help
In honor of World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), we have a goal to raise $250,000 for treatment and recovery. We believe getting help shouldn’t depend on your bank account or crypto wallet.
100% of every crypto gift made during the month of September will go directly toward providing scholarships that remove financial barriers to accessing professional mental health care.
- A gift of $500 will help 10 people sit with a counselor for the first time.
- A gift of $1,000 will give one person 12 weeks of care with Meru Health, a digital mental health care provider.
- A gift of $2,500 will give one person 12 weeks of intensive outpatient substance use and mental health care.
Why should I donate cryptocurrency?
The IRS classifies cryptocurrencies as property, so cryptocurrency donations to non-profit 501(c)(3) charities like TWLOHA receive the same tax treatment as donating stocks. Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. Please contact your tax or financial advisor for more information.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes! You’ll receive a tax receipt to the email address provided at the time of your donation.
Can I donate anonymously and still get a tax receipt?
Yes, we have an option for donors to submit by email only in order to receive an automatic tax receipt.
