Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to live in Florida to be a remote volunteer?

As a remote volunteer, you are free to volunteer your time wherever you have access to a computer and the internet!

I’m already in the US on an International Student Visa. Am I eligible to apply for an internship?

Please email [email protected] so we can talk more about your specific situation.

If I apply for a remote volunteer position, am I allowed to apply for an internship position in the future?

Yes! If the opportunity ever arises for you to be able to join us in Florida for an internship term, we encourage you to apply!

Are you allowed to pay international applicants?

As a US Non-Profit, paid intern positions are only available to eligible US Applicants. If you have dual citizenship or are currently in the US on a student visa, please email [email protected] to confirm eligibility. All other international applicants are invited to apply for the volunteer opportunity.

Can I view the application questions before starting my application?

Yes! Please email [email protected] to request the full list of questions prior to starting your application.

What is the weekly time commitment for the intern program?

The intern program is 12-15 hours a week. You must be able to commit to attending 2-3 weekly scheduled meetings each week during the 9 am to 5 pm ET, Monday through Friday work week, but there is flexibility in the remaining weekly hours.

How old do you need to be to apply?

We ask that our interns are at least 18 years of age by the beginning of the intern term. While we’d love to open the program to a younger demographic, the topics that we talk about at TWLOHA on a daily basis can be heavy and potentially triggering to younger audiences. If you are still interested in getting involved, but under the age of 18, we encourage you to check out our Get Involved page for other ways to bring TWLOHA’s message of help and hope to your community.

Is this a paid internship?

Yes, paid intern positions are available to eligible US Applicants only. If you have dual citizenship or are currently in the US on a student visa, please email [email protected] to confirm eligibility. All other international applicants are invited to apply on a volunteer basis.

How much does the internship pay?

Eligible interns will receive a stipend that will be split up into bi-weekly installments for the length of their internship. The amount of stipend is dependent on the intern term as our terms vary in length.
