The Finance + Admin Team at TWLOHA exists to ensure the efficient performance of all departments in the organization. This department manages the financial and day-to-day operations, as well as the fundraising and giving aspects of annual campaigns.
Position Overview
A primary responsibility of all To Write Love on Her Arms interns is responding to messages from supporters through email and social media messages. All interns spend the first half of their day responding to the questions asked and stories shared through these platforms. The second half of the day is spent working in their specific intern position within their assigned department.
The Finance + Administrative Intern will work under the Finance + Admin Team, alongside the Office Manager and Finance + Development Manager, to assist with the day-to-day business operations of TWLOHA.
Job responsibilities include:
- Processing that week’s mail and record on incoming mail log
- Managing accurate Salesforce entry for each piece of mail
- Sending appropriate tiered thank you’s to our donors
- Assisting in Quarterly Tax Receipts
- Pulling monthly finance reports
- Submitting check and bill requests
- Assisting with quarterly Cost of Goods
- Fielding phone calls on behalf of TWLOHA
- Assisting in the management of office duties and supply inventory
- Organizing and submitting Third-Party Donor reports
- Assisting in preparing for any fundraising campaign launches
- Helping with Donor Stewardship
- Other assigned duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old (by the application deadline)
- Must have the ability to live in Melbourne, FL for the entire term
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, computer literacy, thorough knowledge of the internet and social media
- Works well both independently and as part of a community
- Has an understanding of and a plan for self-care. (Our interns respond to stories of hope and pain daily, so they need to be able to balance the weight of that task while maintaining their own mental health.)
- Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Degree of professionalism, especially when dealing with people
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines while working independently
- Education or experience in finance, administration, or accounting
- Previous experience in SalesForce or other CRMs
- Commitment to the mission and vision of the organization
- While not required, we prefer applicants to have two years of college or professional technical experience
Availability
- The position is 30-35 hours a week, Monday – Friday
