In the final episode of Season 3, we honor World Mental Health Day (October 10) by talking with people from five different countries across the globe about the ways in which mental health plays a role in everyone’s lives no matter where they live. From New Zealand to India and the UK, we reflect on the progress made and the work that still needs to be done when it comes to mental health. And we learn about how stigma continues to impact this conversation in varying cultures and how access to professional help depends on far too many factors in most places.
“This is something that all of us are in together and that we all need to talk more about. That we all need to invite ourselves into each other's stories, just to realize that this is not something that's an individual struggle, or even a cultural struggle. It is something that we all need to come together for because I believe the less we talk about something, the more shame is attached to it. I strongly believe that empathy doesn't hold space for shame.”
This episode of the TWLOHA podcast was hosted by Chad Moses and produced by Lindsay Kolsch, with editorial support by Rebecca Ebert. Music assistance was provided by James Likeness and Ben Tichenor.
