Thank you.

Hi Guys

Happy Thanksgiving from Memphis, Tennessee.  I hope this finds you full and smiling.  I am on a borrowed computer in a house full of family.  A great-grandmother’s voice is alive in the living room as I type.  It’s a beautiful sound (her voice, not my typing).  A tiny little girl named Lilly is trying to sleep on a cot closeby, so I’ll have to keep this brief.

I just wanted to say thank you… Thank you for the way you’ve responded to Renee’s story.  You have so much to do with her healing, her new life.  And that response is touching people everywhere.  We are a snowball of hope : )

Thank you for the new life you’ve give me.  I’ve told a few people lately that the work I do now – TWLOHA – if I won the lottery, I would do the exact same thing.  I don’t know many people who can say that about their job.  It is a privilege.  Thank you.

Thank you for helping us remove the stigmas and the lies that have haunted the hurting for so long.  We have a long way to go but it is worth fighting for.

Thank you for caring.  Thank you for supporting us.  Thank you for your thousands of kind words.  Thank you for believing and dreaming and encouraging.  Thank you for being brave in the face of frightening issues.  Thank you for responding to tragedy and pain in your communities.

And more than anything, thank you for loving people.  Thank you for loving the misunderstood, the sick, the confused, the addicted, the tired and lonely.  Thank you for loving us.  Thank you for loving you.

I could go on for hours, but that’s all for now…

Your life matters.  Your story matters.

Good night from Memphis.

jamie
