It’s been a few months since TWLOHA took HEAVY AND LIGHT—an evening of songs, conversation, and hope—to 17 cities across America. It was a project long in the works, and one made possible by the $1 million grant TWLOHA received in December 2011 at the first American Giving Awards, presented by Chase Bank. The AGA crew was with us in NYC, and they’ve put together a quick video offering a glimpse into HEAVY AND LIGHT. Founder Jamie Tworkowski, along with Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot and Fiction Family), explain more about the heart behind the tour, and you’ll also see clips of performances from our friends Now Now, Will Anderson, and poet Anis Mojgani.
“The songs that we sing are often looking for hope. Over the years, I’ve realized that life is a messy thing, and we all need help from each other,” Jon Foreman says. “What I like about HEAVY AND LIGHT is it brings all these issues to the surface.”
Once again, we would like to thank Chase and the American Giving Awards for the role they played in supporting HEAVY AND LIGHT. It allowed us to realize the dream of taking our favorite night and flagship event on the road. What a privilege to share music, mental health resources, and honest community across the United States.
