We’re inspired by the fact that people view their birthdays as a chance to not only celebrate their own existence, but to ensure that others who are struggling will find the hope and help they deserve.
Today, we mourn the heartbreaking loss of Chester Bennington. But today as we mourn, may we also declare that we’ll keep going.
I always believed that Madison Holleran would have loved To Write Love On Her Arms—if only she'd had the chance to find it.
Why am I writing all this? Is it self-serving? You betcha. Can it help anyone else? God I fucking hope so.
We need to learn how to create elbow and knee pads for our mental health.
This letter is a reminder to the girl who wrote my suicide note. It is a reminder to myself: I am worth it, even when I don’t believe it. I am worth it.
I’m writing about this because the stigma surrounding mental illness, especially in Christian communities, keeps people locked in prisons of shame, refusing to admit that they need help.
You may look like nothing more than a broken tree branch. But you are something solid, strong real, graceful. You can take flight—you can glide. You are awesomely weird.
