HEAVY AND LIGHT FAQ.

By Jamie TworkowskiDecember 13, 2012

Q: What is HEAVY AND LIGHT?
A: HEAVY AND LIGHT is our flagship event and favorite night of the year. Up to now, it’s only ever happened in Orlando, at the House of Blues. Beginning January 28 in Anaheim, HEAVY AND LIGHT is going to 17 cities across America. It’s “an evening of songs, conversation and hope” – which means it’s a night of acoustic music, but there is also speaking – stories of pain and hope and recovery. And on the note of recovery, everyone in the room will leave with a list of local resources, places where they can get help in their local community.

Here’s a few videos to give you a taste of HEAVY AND LIGHT:

Q: Why the tour? Why did it go from one night in Orlando to 17 cities across America?
A: Because people drove and flew from all across the U.S. and beyond to be there,. We heard things like “best night of my life” and “all-time favorite show” and “it changed my life.” So it became our dream to share HEAVY AND LIGHT on a bigger scale, to bring it to more people in more places. That dream was made possible when we won $1,000,000 at the first-ever American Giving Awards one year ago.

Q: Who is playing?
A: It varies from night to night. With the exception of Anaheim, Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot) & Fiction Family are playing every night, along with Now, Now and spoken word poet Anis Mojgani. Other artists are playing select cities. Here’s a little something we made to show you who is playing where.

Q: Are the shows All Ages?
A: Yes. Every single one of them is All Ages. Everyone is welcome.

Q: How do I get tickets?
A: Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning (12/14) at 10am EST. Tickets available here.

Q: Why aren’t you coming to my city (or country)?
A: HEAVY AND LIGHT is our favorite thing, so of course we wish we could bring it everywhere. Originally, we committed to the tour being 12 cities, but instead we’re doing 17 cities. While we’re excited for the extra shows, we’re of course disappointed for all the places we aren’t able to go. One in particular is the Northwest. We know that’s the one corner of the country that is getting left out. Please know that it was not intentional. Booking this tour is a giant puzzle involving schedules, finances, venue availability, etc. We really wanted to hit Seattle or Portland, but it just didn’t work out this time around.

Speaking beyond America, we would love to one day bring HEAVY AND LIGHT to other countries, but it’s just not possible for this tour. We have to walk before we run. We hope you’re able to join us in focusing on the positive – we’re super excited to be able to bring HEAVY AND LIGHT to nearly 20,000 people in just a few weeks. We hope you’re excited too. If we’re not coming to your city, we hope you will consider getting on a plane or taking a road trip to join us.

Q: Will (TWLOHA founder) Jamie Tworkowski be there?
A: Yes. Jamie will be speaking every night.

Q: Will you guys be selling merch?
A: Yes. TWLOHA staff members will be selling merch and, in addition, we will have information and resources.
