On The Road With…Emily Tworkowski

By To Write Love on Her ArmsJune 19, 2014

Every year around this time, a few folks from our team hit the road for the summer festival circuit. While they certainly enjoy the excitement of new places and days filled with music, it’s not why they go. They go because of people. More specifically, they go because they believe in bringing TWLOHA’s message of hope and help to people all over.

Perhaps you’ve seen them at Warped Tour or a festival near your hometown. You likely had conversations with them about music, life, and community. You may have showed them your TWLOHA-inspired tattoo. You may have shared your #FearsVsDreams. Maybe you bought your first TWLOHA shirt from one of them. As summer kicks into high gear and you’re counting down to your favorite festival, here’s a little introduction to the friendly faces you’ll find under the TWLOHA tent this summer.

***

When did you leave for tour?

Emily: June 9th!

This is my ____ tour.

Emily: 8th Warped Tour (not always the whole thing)

Where are you going to sleep?

Emily: On a bus. In a bunk.

Who’s going with you?

Emily: Jason from TWLOHA! Sharing a bus with The Summer Set!

Where are you going?

Emily: Lots of America. A tiny bit of Canada.

Coolest place you’ve been on tour?

Emily: New Orleans.

Favorite part of tour?

Emily: People. My friends and the people I get to talk to at our tent.

I always forget to pack:

Emily: My best friend Laila.

I always over-pack:

Emily: Shoes? Shoes.

My tour soundtrack includes:

Emily: Last summer was The Civil Wars and Lorde. This summer: ?!

My favorite memory from last year is:

Emily: Buying matching little girl bikes (they had streamers) and riding them around Warped with my friends.

My all-time favorite tour memory is:

Emily: Getting post-tour advice from Jon Foreman at the end of my first tour: “Go home and do all the things you love with all the people you love.” (It was something like that, but better)

My go-to tour food or drink is:

Emily: Microwavable chicken pot pies.

When I’m on tour, I really miss:

Emily: My family. My super-cute nephews.

If you see me on tour, you should:

Emily: Say hi! (While handing me Starbucks – iced coffee with cream and sugar, I love you.)

Although getting to meet Jason and Chad in Australia this year. Would be awesome to meet/see some Twokowskis out here again soon. The last time I met Jaime was the very first time TWLOHA came to Australia which was a LONG time ago
