Video: “My creed is to mend the broken heart while it is yet beating.”

By Jamie TworkowskiFebruary 20, 2014

In 1999, Steve Fugate lost his son to suicide. A few years later, he lost his daughter to addiction. Today, Steve is 64 years old and has walked across America seven times, a total of 34,000 miles. “I’m driven by not wanting other young people to do what my little boy did,” he says. One day, one step, and one person at a time, Steve walks in hopes of bringing healing to people who are struggling, and to himself as well. Watch the video below, check out the original story HERE, and be sure to check out Steve’s LOVE LIFE WALK.

Thanks for this. Very cool. I loved his: “you can do it from the bottom of your feet or from the bottom of your heart”.
Both have cracks, both are dirty, both can hurt.
I’m thankful for what shattered my heart, & for those who held the pieces.

Please honor this man and his message by designing a shirt with his creed, “Mend the broken heart while it is yet beating.” What a beautiful saying to spread.
